Springtime Road Trip

Would you like to be able to do 13 AKC trials over three weekends? How about the following road trip

  • Greater Monroe Kennel club in Concord, NC - indoors on padded artificial turf - 4 days March 31 - April 3
  • Greater Columbia Obedience Club in West Columbia, SC - outdoors under cover - 4 days April 7 - April 10
  • Atlanta Kennel Club & CWC in Perry, GA (Peach Blossom Cluster) - indoors on dirt - 5 days April 13 - April 17

From my place the total is about 20 hours (plus stops) and a bit over 1300 miles. The last time we did it, we took our time getting to Concord with a stop at a RV park in southern GA and another stop at Barnyard RV park in West Columbia. It is about two hours from West Columbia to Concord. Since RV parking is first come first served starting at noon at Concord, it is an easy drive from West Columbia to Concord on Wednesday Morning.

The Concord show also has conformation, obedience and Rally. The Perry show has all that plus a bunch of other events.

The RV parking at Concord is good but not especially level in the area closest to the building. The RV parking at Greater Columbia is limited and only 30 amp (and one time the main breakers went out when everyone had their AC running). RV parking is good at Perry. The last time we did this I just booked a the entire stay between Concord and Perry at Barnyard and commuted to the GCOC trial (about 20 minutes if I remember right).

It is about four hours between West Columbia and Perry.

Premium links in Calendar

I will be putting links to the premiums in the calendar. I will do this with new premiums that I publish so eventually if you see a “P” at the end of a calendar entry you will be able to click on the entry, click on the “Premium” link which will take you to the Florida Agility page where you can click on the link to the premium. I add the extra step so I do not have to update the calendar if the club updates the premium. If you would like to see how this works, click on the calendar entry for Cool Critters TDAA trial on February 20 or the Mid Florida Golden Retriever Club AKC trial on April 22.
